After countless deaths and devastating lockdowns, some lawmakers are taking a look back at the mistakes that were made during the pandemic.
“Let’s just review what a miserable failure response was: Over 975,000 Americans dead, over 6 million people globally. The human toll, the economic devastation from the very ill-advised widespread shutdowns that didn’t work,” said Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., to The National Desk’s Jan Jeffcoat.
Johnson specifically called out the toll of the pandemic on children, from masking to school closings and “the state of fear” that was created around COVID-19.
“I don’t know whether some of them will ever recover,” said Johnson.
