The very fact that North America, for example, you know 500 years ago, was literally a groomed. It was a groomed landscape. The Native Americans they were participating. They lit fires. They chased bison, they did, I mean and and you know, one of the most interesting books ever is like the. Greatest estate, which is about the Aborigines in Australia. The title of the book is the greatest estate and it talks about how you know the Aborigines. You know dammed up creeks and stuff to create. Little little work called weirs. So that when A flood comes. It drops the silt above the dam and. Eases the water. Out across the landscape like like irrigation and it it actually builds up the landscape instead of excising. The you know excising the ditch that the that the. Runs in. In fact, they’ve now. I’ve been to Australia what 16 times? And the and every time I go there there’s some new kind of, you know, anthropological finding and one of the latest things that they’ve discovered now is that as the nomadic Aborigines moved, they they kind of a lot of them stayed. Along the coasts, because that’s that was easy. Easy living yeah and and and as they would go through they would all use the same trash pile. And so when a when a tribe came through they would look at the trash pile to see what the previous group ate from the from the ocean from the from the beach there because there’s crustaceans. Mosques and, uh, what’s the other fish, I guess, and so that they would look at the pile. And if the previous group threw had eaten fish well, then they would know not to fish. They would eat mollusks or crustaceans if if there were mullets and then they would fish and and eat the, you know other and that they they literally rotationally harvested the. The the Ocean Aquatic community there as they went through they they had these things so that that interaction with. A with a view to longevity and sustainability has been among us.
Right?
You know, for a long, long time and and just because just because the conquistadors had a bad name doesn’t mean that all human interaction. Is is bad, you know there there are groups that were that were stewards and there were groups that were pillagers and. And and we we can. Choose which group we want to be in.
